The Fort Worth Fly Fishers Club meeting will be on Tuesday, April 8, and the renowned Blane Chocklett will be our speaker. Blane’s name is often included as one of the top fly fishers and fly tyers in the USA. He specializes in targeting and catching large predator fish with his signature articulated fly, “The Game Changer.”

Blane will be leading a tying session for our club as well! We will meet at the Temple Fork Outfitters Headquarters, which is locate d in Grand Prairie on Tuesday, April 8th (park on the west side of the facility, and enter there). Starting at noon for lunch, and tying to begin at 1 pm. Lasting till 3 pm, so the tiers can check out the TFO Headquarters, purchase a book, get in a few pictures, and then run over to Fort Worth to eat at Flying

Fish, then off for the club meeting. After a quick lunch, and hearing from Blane for a little while, we will begin tying flies, with one of the most innovative fly tiers in the fly fishing industry!

Here are the details, and the cost to attend. The flies we will tie, will be of Blane’s choice. Not time-consuming, basic patterns we can all benefit from.

You must be a current member of the Fort Worth Fly Fishers to attend, and RSVP before arriving!! RSVP before April 6, 2025 to Russell Husted, russellhusted@sbcglobal.net. There are 25 spots available for this session.

• Event starts at 12pm, and will end at 4pm, if not sooner. Tying will end at 3pm.

• Cost will be $60 to attend the tying session. This includes your lunch and a raffle ticket.

• Lunch will be provided by Mixed Up Burgers. You can choose between a burger basket (cheese or no cheese) or

an awesome chicken sandwich both come with fries and a drink.

• When you RSVP for the event, you will inform us of your choice of sandwich.

• Bring your own vice, tools, and threads. Suggest a heavier gauge of thread, in a basic color. All other supplies needed for the tying session will be provided.

• Blane will have some books available to purchase, and he will autograph them there.

• Photo opportunities will be available as well.

• There will be time to walk around the TFO Production area, to see the process they use for making some of our favorite rods.

• You will be able to purchase rods. Along with other TFO gear as well. A special promo code will be given to you on arrival for 20% off for that afternoon.

• We will be raffling off a TFO Blane Chocklett BC Big Fly Rod and Reel to end the tying session. A value of $700!!!!!!
