Texas Council Casting Director

Stephen Weaver is the Casting Director of the Texas Council FFI and has been a Fly Fishers International Casting Instructor since 2020.
As Texas Council’s Casting Director, he focuses on casting development for FFI clubs and non-club affiliated FFI members throughout the State of Texas. The Council’s Casting Director leads by providing professional development and instructional opportunities to existing Casting Instructors and Casting Instructor candidates. Contact is provided through club engagement and participating in state fly fishing events.
Steven Weaver is a Texas A&M University Hollingsworth Center for Ethical Leadership lecturer. He is also co-founder of Good Fly Inc., a not-for-profit organization that offers free fly-fishing activities to people enduring stressful professions or circumstances. Fly fishing is a sport long known to provide healthy stress-relieving benefits. Good Fly’s Mission Statement is “Casting Flies to Renew the Mind and Refresh the Spirit.” Learn more at goodfly.org.
